  (Careertoolbelt.com) I have been working with computers for a long time and I know how to use most of the well-known software like MS Word, excel PowerPoint, etc. And with the completion of my previous term, I can use e-commerce websites and design platforms like Wix and Shopify to a certain degree. I have basic knowledge of Python with self-study however, I have never engaged in any programming courses. I have not used in any special hardware to learn something however I do use youtube to learn a majority of my work because of my learning style. At DMU, I believe we will work a lot with software like MS Excel, Word, and Powerpoint this will help increase employability and gain a deeper understanding of the various software to do work faster and more efficiently which in turn will help increase my employability. After researching many universities that I wanted to be a part of I stumbled across DMU as a friend referred me, I wanted a high-ranking university for under-18 students like myself where the opportunity to do so is provided. I read many great reviews and once I got here I realized it was true. What Sparked my interest in DMU? I was always interested in computers from a young age. I came to a point in my life where I had to decide which university I will be going to in the future this made do rigorous research and I stumbled upon DMU a great university for computing that looked like the perfect fit for me.   What is my course title at DMU? This is where I will be sharing my journey through the computer skills and research module at DMUIC.  A short introduction about myself, I am Akash Gunathilaka I am from Sri Lanka and I study computing here at DMUIC. Computing has always been a part of me since I was young this interest was accelerated with all the modern developments which make me believe that the future will be hugely dependant on computers and technology and I want to learn more about this. I have already finished term 1 in this course and I learned a lot about e-commerce which was really interesting after I got the hang of it.
